Local Court Manager Receives National Certification

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OHIO – Administrative Judge Diane M. Palos is pleased to announce that Deputy Court Administrator Justin Seeton was among 32 court administrators, clerks, chief probation officers, and other leaders from across Ohio to receive the Certified Court Executive credential from the nationally recognized Court Management Program (CMP).

Offered through a partnership between The Supreme Court of Ohio’s Judicial College and the National Center for State Courts’ Institute for Court Management, the Court Management Program addresses specific training needs of court leaders. The program is designed to improve the performance of courts and access to justice for members of the community.

“ Justin’s hard work in becoming a Certified Court Executive confirms his dedication to his role in this Court,” Palos stated.

Palos continued, “The Domestic Relations Court now has two fellows, four certified court executives, and five certified court mangers on staff. This accomplishment is a clear testament to the dedication and exceptional quality of our employees and the Court’s commitment to enhance the administration of justice in Cuyahoga County.”

Supreme Court Chief Justice Sharon L. Kennedy addressed the graduates, who committed three years to advanced study including leadership, operations management, educational development, public relations, strategic planning, and modern court governance.

“With your newfound expertise, you are equipped to introduce innovative management practices that will streamline court operations and elevate the overall administration of justice,” said Chief Justice Kennedy. “The skills and knowledge you have acquired position you to lead with clarity and purpose, ensuring that our courts continue to operate with the utmost efficiency, fairness, and transparency.“

“As graduates of the Court Management Program, you are poised to lead the advance of innovation and transformation within court administration,” Kennedy told the group. “Your hard-earned status is a powerful testament to your unwavering commitment to enhancing the standards of our courts in Ohio.”

The National Center for State Courts, founded in 1971, is a nonprofit organization and a central resource for state courts, promoting the rule of law and improving the administration of justice in state courts and courts around the world.
